How I decided to be a therapist
I've always believed that each of the individuals has their own potential and strength to develop.
This belief led me to major in counseling psychology for an advanced course, and I was able to expand my knowledge towards the human mind - how to induce a growth mindset by embracing vulnerability. This learning influenced the way of my life and I am honored to assist my clients to increase their level of psychological flexibility through the therapeutic relationship.
How I would like to help clients as a therapist
I mainly assist my clients to connect their repeated patterns of thoughts and behaviors from guided discovery. Emotional restructuring is taken place when the challenges are confronted,
and I stand beside my clients to validate their emotions and feelings.
I believe that healing begins when we are able to normalize our reactions and symptoms
from understanding 'pain' as a part of the human experience. I reflect my clients' experience to identify their own value towards the right direction through exploration of the inner mind.
What my theoretical orientation is as a therapist
My theoretical orientation derives from acceptance-based therapies. I often use Compassion Focused Therapy(CFT) to increase the level of self-kindness from reducing self-criticism which in turn increase the level of functioning in daily life. When it comes to addressing the issues regarding interpersonal relationships, I utilize psychodynamics to explore the interactions that are currently re-experienced during the intervention.
