How I decided to be a therapist

My volunteer experience in Cambodia deepened my commitment to supporting individuals facing challenges. Motivated by a strong interest in both language and child development, I aspired to make a positive difference in each client’s life, a path that ultimately led me to become a speech-language pathologist. I consider it a privilege to empower individuals with communication difficulties, helping them build confidence and express themselves more effectively.

How I would like to help clients as a therapist

As a speech-language pathologist, my primary goal is to assist clients in overcoming their speech and language difficulties by fostering relationships established on understanding, empathy, and trust. Drawing upon extensive experience working with individuals from both monolingual and bilingual backgrounds, I deeply value linguistic and cultural diversity and recognize the unique qualities of each client. By providing speech and language therapy individualized to their specific circumstances, needs, and goals, I am committed to supporting clients in achieving their fullest potential across all aspects of life.

What my theoretical orientation is as a therapist

Driven by a strong desire to make a meaningful difference in clients’ lives and a deep compassion for individuals, I carefully consider the various factors that influence their language skills, including underlying mechanisms and language environment. Evidence-Based Practices (EBP) and Early Intervention strategies are employed, taking into account each client’s unique circumstances, values, and the involvement of their caregivers. My objective is to facilitate meaningful progress in communication skills, ultimately enabling clients to achieve a better future, a goal that relies fundamentally on building trust with clients and their families.
